The 10U Sound Tigers team entered the playoff as the 4th seed. They upset the #1 seeded NY Skyliners in the semi-final game and then went on to defeat the #2 seeded Westchester Vipers in the championship game, 2-1 in OT
The 12U PAL Milner team's championship game with the LI Gulls was scoreless after 2 periods. The team took the lead on a shorthanded goal mid-way through the 3rd period; and the 2-0 victory was finally assured with an empty net goal with only 20 seconds left to play.
Congratulations to the players and coaches of both of our above teams on their wins!
Congratulations to the players and coaches of the 10U AA Sound Tigers for winning the 10U LIAHL Squirt Milner Division Playoffs. The team won the Championship game in a 2 -1 OT thriller versus the Westchester Vipers. Jordan Sirota scored the game winner 20 seconds into OT with a snipe to the top right corner. The Sound Tigers finished as the #4 seed in league play. They defeated the #1 ranked NY Skyliners, 3-2 in the semi-final win; and the #2 ranked Vipers to win the championship.
The 12U AA PAL-Milner team won the LIAHL PeeWee Milner Championship game vs the LI Gulls on March 3rd, 2-0. It was a hard fought battle between the two clubs, who were both held scoreless through two periods. Halfway through the third period, with PAL shorthanded, James Clifford was able to break the stalemate by sneaking past both Gulls defensemen and going five hole on the Gulls goalie. The Gulls were resilient in their effort to even the score, but with Ryan Burhart stopping everything thrown at him in the final 7 plus minutes of the game; and an empty net goal by Dom DeLuca with 30 seconds left, the League Championship was secured. Congratulations to the players and coaching staff on a season well done.
