Former PAL Player Signs With Maple Leafs
by posted 03/14/2019

Former PAL player Joe Duszak was signed on March 13 by the Toronto Maple Leafs to a two-year future entry-level contract. Duszak was a four-year Mercyhurst University defenseman who finished his career on Saturday, March 9, in a playoff loss to Army. He finished with 99 career points in 101 career NCAA games, and he was a Hobey Baker Award nominee this year.

His 47 points were third among all NCAA defensemen for 2018-19 at the time of his Wednesday signing. According to a Maple Leafs press release, "Duszak is expected to join the Toronto Marlies later this week on an AHL try-out basis."

Prior to his career at Mercyhurst, Duszak was a longtime member of the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders (and their predecessors). A native of Franklin Square, N.Y., he first joined the P.A.L. organization in 2012-13. He remained with the organization through 18U and junior hockey until 2015-16. That year, Duszak was named the USPHL Most Valuable Player and Defenseman Of The Year....SEE FULL STORY

Game to Benefit Colin's Joy Project
by posted 03/05/2019

The Rinx is putting together a team to play against the NYPD Hockey Team!

This game will serve as a tune up game for the NYPD team before they play
the FDNY March 30th at Madison Square Garden.

March 24th • 3pm

This event is particularly special to us here at The Rinx because all proceeds will be donated to Colin's Joy Project. Colin’s Joy Project was created by the McGrath family to give back to their community the same joy with which Colin lived each day. Colin McGrath, the Great Grandson of the Owner and Grandson of Tom Palamara, The President of The Rinx, was tragically taken from us on Wednesday, July 25th after a wonderful day in the park. His life was full of love, laughter, curiosity, and learning. The mission of Colin’s Joy Project is to enhance play space, as well as getting involved in children and family programming, particularly for families in need.

An exciting game-for an exceptional cause. Bring your family down to The Rinx March 24th at 3:00 pm to catch all of the action...SEE FULL DETAILS

PAL 12U Headed to States
by Master Admin posted 02/07/2019

The PAL 12U AA team defeated the Nassau Lions in the NYSAHA Play-In games. PAL went undefeated in the 2 game series winning the first game, 7-4 at The Rinx; the second game, at Cantiague Park, was a defensive battle and tightly contested, resulting in a 1 -1 tie and ultimately sending PAL to the State Tournament. The defense and offense played well all weekend. The Blue Knights set a team goal from "Day 1" to go to the State Tournament, and they achieved it this past weekend. Congratulations and best of luck to the team and coaches in Buffalo.
